Caroline Bertram Art

After years of juggling painting with a full-time job as a medical researcher, Caroline has recently given up the unequal struggle and now spends all her time and most of her energy full time in the studio.  She has exhibited and sold her work successfully at a number of art society exhibitions in the South of England including New Forest Art Society and Marwell International Wildlife Art Society as well as making a number of private sales.

She concentrates on portraits - wildlife, horses, pets and people of all ages - which are mainly  in pencil though she also uses pastel and oils.  Commissions of pets and children are usually done from photographs, as they don't often take kindly to sitting still for longer than a nanosecond, although Caroline likes to spend some time with them, if possible, to discover more about their personality. Her chief aim is always to produce painterly portraits of pets and people which reflect the personality and spirit of the 'sitter', instead of being purely a faithful copy of a photograph.
